The curriculum in brief
Tajweed Curriculum
The curriculum treats Tajweed as a recitation skill, not a list of terms. Articulation, rules, stopping and restarting are introduced in a sequence that the learner can hear, practise and repeat in actual Quran passages.
How the curriculum develops
Articulation first
Build awareness of letter exits and qualities that repeatedly affect clarity.
Core rules in context
Apply common rules while reading rather than separating them from the Mushaf.
Consistency in connected recitation
Keep the rule when attention is shared across a longer passage.
Advanced refinement
Work on subtle recurring errors, stopping and restarting, and sustained accuracy.
What stays in focus
Makharij and sound quality
Applied rules in connected text
Waqf, ibtida and consistent self-correction

How lessons work inside this curriculum
The teacher listens to connected recitation, isolates one important sound or rule, models it and asks the learner to use it again in the same passage. Theory is explained only when it helps the recitation.
Between lessons
Practice is tied to the correction made in class: a few ayat, one articulation point, or one rule applied in context. The target remains small enough to repeat well.

How the teacher adapts the path
The teacher chooses the next correction from what is actually heard, not from a generic checklist. Strong areas are left alone while recurring errors receive more focused work.
What the learner should be able to do
Apply core Tajweed rules more consistently in real recitation
Hear and correct a growing number of personal errors
Maintain clearer articulation across longer passages
Useful questions before starting
Do I need to memorise rule names?
Useful terms are taught when they clarify practice, but memorising labels is not the main goal.
Can I start if my reading is still weak?
The teacher may recommend strengthening reading first if decoding prevents useful Tajweed practice.
Is advanced Qira’at included?
No. Advanced Qira’at is a separate specialised area and should not be assumed from this curriculum.
Is Tajweed mainly theory in this curriculum?
No. Rule names support understanding, but the core work is heard and applied in recitation.
Does this curriculum itself grant an Ijazah?
No. Ijazah preparation is a separate advanced readiness path and no Ijazah is promised by this curriculum.
