1. Safeguarding principles
Children should be treated with dignity, patience and age-appropriate professional boundaries. Teaching should remain focused on the agreed educational purpose. Bullying, grooming, sexualised communication, threats, coercion and inappropriate requests for personal information are not acceptable.
A child should be able to tell a parent or trusted adult about anything that happens in or around a lesson. No teacher or learner should ask a child to hide inappropriate contact from a parent, guardian or the academy.
2. One-to-one online lessons
One-to-one teaching can be educationally effective, but it requires clear boundaries. For younger children, a parent or responsible adult should be reasonably available and know when the lesson is taking place. The learning space should be appropriate for an educational call.
Teachers and families should use academy-approved arrangements for lessons and scheduling rather than creating unnecessary private channels with a child.
3. Communication, images and recordings
Communication with children must remain appropriate, professional and related to learning or necessary lesson administration. Personal, sexual, manipulative or secretive communication is prohibited.
Lesson screenshots, recordings and a child’s personal information should not be created, published or shared without a valid educational or operational reason and the permissions required by the academy process and applicable law.
4. Reporting a concern
If a child reports something worrying, listen calmly, avoid coaching the child’s account, preserve relevant information and contact Quran Garden promptly through the official contact route. State clearly that the issue concerns child safety so it can be prioritised.
The academy may pause lessons or communication, preserve records, seek further information or take other protective steps while a concern is reviewed. Where reporting to an appropriate authority is required or reasonably necessary to protect a child, the academy may do so.
5. Immediate danger and local authorities
Quran Garden is an online education provider and is not a substitute for emergency services or statutory child-protection agencies. If you believe a child faces immediate danger, contact the emergency or child-protection service responsible for the child’s location first.
After urgent safety steps are taken, please also notify the academy when the concern relates to a Quran Garden lesson, teacher, learner or communication channel.
