The curriculum in brief
Quran Recitation & Fluency Curriculum
This curriculum is for the stage where the learner can decode the text but the recitation still feels effortful. We work on continuity, repeated hesitation patterns, breath and stopping choices, and the habits that make a longer passage feel manageable.
How the curriculum develops
Stabilise familiar passages
Use known text to identify where pauses, restarts or guessing still appear.
Build phrase-level flow
Read meaningful groups of words instead of stopping at every word.
Control pace and stopping
Learn to slow down, stop and restart without losing the line of meaning or accuracy.
Extend the passage
Carry the same control into longer and less familiar recitation.
What stays in focus
Connected recitation
Pacing and stopping
Confidence without sacrificing accuracy

How lessons work inside this curriculum
The learner reads aloud while the teacher listens to the exact point where fluency breaks. Correction is demonstrated in context and repeated immediately, so the lesson stays practical rather than becoming a long theory explanation.
Between lessons
Practice stays short and specific: a small reading passage, a sound pattern or a fluency target. The learner should know exactly what to repeat before the next lesson.

How the teacher adapts the path
The teacher does not restart a learner from the alphabet without a reason. Secure skills are kept, weak links are isolated, and the amount of reading is adjusted to attention, age and confidence.
What the learner should be able to do
Recite longer passages with fewer unnecessary breaks
Recover from a hesitation without losing the passage
Use a calmer pace and more deliberate stopping
Useful questions before starting
Is this a Tajweed course?
Tajweed is applied where relevant, but the main goal is fluent connected recitation.
Can a nervous reader benefit?
Yes. The teacher can reduce passage length and build confidence through repeated successful reading.
Do I need advanced reading before starting?
No, but basic decoding should be stable enough that most attention can move to fluency.
Does every learner start from letters?
No. Placement starts from the first reading skill that is not yet stable.
When is it time to move toward Tajweed?
When reading is stable enough that Tajweed can be applied without basic decoding breaking down.
