The curriculum in brief

Arabic Language Curriculum

The curriculum develops Arabic as a usable language. Foundation learners begin with sounds, letters and useful words; later stages combine reading, listening, sentence building, grammar and clearer expression in Modern Standard Arabic.

How the curriculum develops

01

Build the language base

Secure sounds, reading patterns and useful high-frequency vocabulary.

02

Make short language usable

Understand and produce simple sentences in familiar contexts.

03

Expand text and conversation

Read longer material, follow more connected speech and express more detailed ideas.

04

Refine accuracy and independence

Use grammar and vocabulary more precisely in reading, discussion and writing.

What stays in focus

01

Reading and vocabulary

02

Listening and speaking

03

Grammar and writing in practical use

Arabic Language Curriculum — How the curriculum develops

How lessons work inside this curriculum

A word, pattern or grammar point is introduced and then used immediately in reading, listening, speaking or a short writing task. The mix changes with the curriculum goal, but recognition is always pushed toward usable language.

Between lessons

Practice may be vocabulary retrieval, a short reading, a listening task or a few sentences. It is chosen to strengthen the skill currently being built rather than to fill a worksheet.

Arabic Language Curriculum — How progress is recognised

How the teacher adapts the path

The teacher adjusts how much Arabic is used in the lesson, how much grammar is named, and whether the learner needs more listening, reading or production.

What the learner should be able to do

01

Read and understand progressively richer Arabic at the learner’s level

02

Use vocabulary and sentence patterns with less translation dependence

03

Express ideas more accurately in speech or writing as level develops

Useful questions before starting

Is this Modern Standard Arabic?

The main language track is Modern Standard Arabic. Specific speaking goals can be discussed separately.

Can a child and adult follow the same page?

They can share the skill sequence, but materials, examples and pace are adapted by age.

Do you teach grammar from the first lesson?

Grammar is introduced when it helps the learner understand and use the language, rather than as an isolated list of rules.

Do I need to read Arabic before starting?

Not for foundation curricula. Reading ability is part of placement.

Is speaking included?

Yes when speaking serves the curriculum goal; Quranic Arabic places more weight on recognition and understanding of Quran-related language.
